These 3
bowlers were the driving force in San Jose.
Together, they kept the San Jose
Mexican-American Bowling League and annual
tournament going for many years. What had
started out as the New Mexico Social Club
branched out to include bowling leagues and
tournaments.
Mario Bonilla,
Josie Bonilla (pictured below) and Elias Lopez
(pictured right) served as League Officers and
tournament directors. Everyone knows that to
have a successful Mexican-American tournament
the league officers/directors have to travel to
other tournaments, promoting their own. These
three have bowled all of the tournaments at one
time or another.
Elias Lopez
served the Mexican-American league as
Sergeant-at-arms and tournament director. He is
another example of a person showing dedication
to the league and our team---even with a bad
back---he was there. Super friendly person! One
could always expect a big hug from this great
guy!
These three
persons helped make the Mexican-American league
from San Jose fun and something to look forward
to and participate in.
