Roll of Fame Honoree – Carlos & Julia Orta
Hollister
Mexican-American Bowling League

Bronze Medallion
This couple enjoys competing. Whether it was
when coaching their kids in the many kid sports
or now in the many tournaments they participate
in.
Julia started bowling in 1986 and husband Carlos
soon followed. They joined the Mexican-American
league in 1988 and have bowled it ever since.
They since have been crowned league champions
several times.
They started bowling Mexican-American
tournaments and one year even went out and
bought their sombreros so they could march in
with the group from Hollister to enter the
bowling center. This was the Bakersfield
tournament.
Since then, they try to make as many tournaments
as they can. And mainly it’s to visit with old
friends and make new ones. That is the beauty of
our tournaments, all the friends one makes.
Their daughter Betty, a 190 bowler herself was
telling us that she and Phil, her husband, heard
them say that they have fun because their
favorite topic is sex. So the next time you bowl
with the Orta’s, remember to bring cute jokes
and your laughing caps, along with a smile.
Mambo is pleased to honor Julia & Carlos Orta
with the Bronze medal.
Congratulations
to Carlos and Julia Orta.
