Bronze Medal Honoree

Roll of Fame Honoree –
Carmen Garcia
Sacramento Mexican-American Bowling League
Bronze Medallion
Carmen is being inducted in the MAMBO Roll of
Fame in the Individual Bronze category. Tia
Carmen, who was known affectionately as “Ti” by
many of her friends, started bowling in the Old
Aztec league. The league only lasted several
years but by then Carmen was doing double duty
and bowling both Aztec and Mexican-American
Leagues.
“Ti” served
as vice-president in the winter and summer
Mexican-American Leagues. She wasn’t a high
roller but like all bowlers, did have her
moments and “Ti” did achieve several 200 plus
games during those years. She was also a member
and inductee of the Sacramento Mexican-American
Sports Association.
Carmen’s
greatest asset was her passion for life. She was
involved in many community activities. Ti loved
to sing and boy could she dance! But the one
thing that I think we most remember is being in
the bar after bowling having a drink with her
and seeing the infamous “pinkie” standing out.
She was often teased about that. “Ti”, you will
be missed.
Accepting the
award for Carmen are two of her very good
friends, Hank & Helen Molina.
